What is 'modern tango' I hear you ask? Well if you have come to our classes or events before then you already know as nothing has changed, but if you are new to Tangosynthesis then 'modern' describes us pretty well.
We dance to contemporary music. That may be modern music written for tango, but it is just as likely to be blues, jazz, or anything else with a suitable rhythm or flow. If you like a track and want to dance to it then tell us and we will give it a try.
We have a modern teaching style. Graham has spent years not just learning how to dance tango, but in understanding how it works and how to teach it. Rather than simply learning steps by repetition he encourages you to understand the language of movement, musicality, and connection that forms the essence of tango, and and through that encourages more creative improvisation.
So if you want to learn tango but are looking for a more modern approach than you might find at some other classes, give us a try. And there is always free tea and coffee (and usually biscuits) too!
Our tango training video series are here to help you practice what you learned in class, or to help you learn at home if that works best for you:
